It should not matter if the accident occurred before or after the insurance company processed the check. The only thing that matters is that you sent your payment to the insurance company on time for renewal of your policy. Even then, some companies allow and some states require a grace period of a few days, so you would have to check with your own insurance carrier to be sure.
